I don’t know if it’s because I’m highly sens I don’t know if it’s because I’m highly sensitive but social media has been beyond overwhelming these past few months for me.

There’s so much noise and it’s definitely affected my creativity.

The time that I’ve taken since stepping back from social media has allowed me to create my bare minimum content plan, where I don’t need to rely on the platforms as much but I’m still putting the brand out there.

If you’re interested in seeing my behind the scenes and getting my inner thoughts, join The Legal Love Note. It’s my own personal business journal plus legal insights to help you legally protect your business while also giving you something that you can do to take action immediately.

P.S. I've done a month over month comparison from this month to last month and I've made slightly more this month while doing less!

I thought this headline was fitting for the Easter I thought this headline was fitting for the Easter weekend. 🐰

Let's be real about what it takes to create all of this content that social media wants us to create to not show it to all of our audience. 🙃

It's not good for your mind, body, or soul. And it can be addictive constantly checking to see if we got "likes" or engagement.

So let's find other ways to promote your business. And I'm telling you, if you can figure out how to get consistent buyers from word of mouth, you are GOLD.

As someone who is easily influenced to buy when I see something interesting, you better believe it that if my bestie says she loves something, I'm *adding to cart* IMMEDIATELY.

Don't forget to read the newest blog post on marketing your biz without social media. Link in my stories!

In January of 2022, I made a commitment to move my In January of 2022, I made a commitment to move my body 5-7x a week.

I began walking, usually on the beach🏝️ and began taking pilates. My goal was to get at least 10,000 steps on my walks and do some form of exercise at least 5x a week.

And while there have been many days/weeks that I didn’t hit that goal (or exercise at all), I picked myself up and tried again (shoutout to Aaliyah).

As time passed, I noticed my clothes were fitting better, but I threw out my scale and had no clue how much I weighed until I went to the doctor yesterday.

Come to find out I lost 7 lbs. 😱 While that may not sound like a lot in over a year long period, being a shorty (5’2) and not being overweight, it’s hard to lose lbs. Like really hard. As in, I was trying to lose 5 lbs since 2017, but gave up and said I’m turning 30 soon and the old metabolism ain’t what it used to be.

When I made this goal, weight loss was no where on the list of things I hoped to achieve. I just wanted to move my body and feel my best. I found that walking felt good and I loved the feeling of the sun on my face every morning.☀️

And as someone who HATED, and I mean HATED any type of exercise, being this consistent for over a year for something I didn’t love has felt amazing. And having tangible results has made it feel even better. ☺️

Next time there’s something you hate (I think many of us service business owners don’t love marketing), try to find some aspect that you can tolerate and go all in and see what kind of results come from it. You may be surprised at what unfolds with your consistency. ☺️

Speaking of consistency, every 2nd and 4th Thursday, I’ll be dropping into your inbox and spilling my guts on all things legal and what I’m doing in my own business inside of The Legal Love Note. The first issue comes out tomorrow. Sign up now using the link in bio.

When I started my law firm, I wanted to be sure th When I started my law firm, I wanted to be sure there was a delineation of when I was available and when I wasn't.

As attorneys, many clients feel as if their situation is an emergency and that their attorney is supposed to be on call. Unless you're keeping someone out of jail or keeping a family safe from abuse...you shouldn't be talking to clients at midnight on a Saturday.

And this goes for other service providers too. There's no emergency when you're building a website, so they shouldn't be blowing up your phone on Sunday night.

Enter a communication policy. This policy sets boundaries and expectations of when you are and are not available for a client.

Back in 2019, I was looking for a communication policy to use as a template, so I wouldn't miss important issues that may come up and had a tough time finding one. So last week I decided to create one!

Inside of the communication policy, you'll find:
⚡ Office hours
⚡ Methods of communication
⚡ What to do in an emergency
⚡ Confidentiality
⚡How and where to access project files
⚡ What software you use for online meetings
⚡ When you'll check in with clients
⚡What to do if a situation has to be escalated

Go to the shop under "Clauses" and you'll find the communication policy. Link in bio!

If you’re ready to start taking small and actionable steps to getting your business legal, sign up for The Legal Love Note.

PS. There’s 5 more permits and licenses I discuss in the newsletter, not 4. Oops.
